Laser Therapy University (LTU) is the leading online education portal for low-level laser therapy (LLLT). Also known as photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT), LLLT has been researched and studied around the world for over half a century in various medical and veterinary disciplines. Though LLLT was first approved for use in 2002, education and understanding of the basic uses and applications was lacking.
This information gap inspired the first LTU webinar, which debuted in 2009 and detailed how LLLT relieves pain by utilizing light to naturally influence restorative and reparative processes during injury or illness. LTU then launched its monthly webinar program in 2011, providing clinicians with LLLT research, insights and protocols to treat a variety of conditions using the power of light.
The LTU website launched in 2014 with the goal of providing an educational hub for LLLT education to clinicians, practitioners and end users. To date, there are over 90 webinars, 50 videos, nearly 100 protocols, and over 200 research studies available to view on-demand.
In 2019, LTU hosted its first educational symposium, Mastering Priority Principle to Gain Superior Outcomes, which sold out quickly. Over 80 attendees met in Orlando, FL to learn about laser therapy basics, techniques, protocols, research, case studies and more from 20+ experts in various medical and veterinary disciplines. After the overwhelmingly positive response from attendees, LTU plans to host more in-person educational events around the country to provide the necessary hands-on experience to laser practitioners.
